Born in Australia and based in London, Jen Fearnley is an award-winning filmmaker who brings their storytelling skills to a wide spectrum of productions. Passionate about creating films that celebrate and explore the worlds of people who are often relegated to the margins of society, they are especially interested in working on projects that centre people who are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, disabled and neurodivergent.

With an MA from Goldsmiths and a background in fine art and community organising, they have worked on documentaries around the world. Their films have followed LGBTQ+ activists fighting to change colonial laws in India, Kenya and Belize, young girls street hawking in Nigeria, female doctors challenging sexual health taboos in Somaliland, and a 100 year old woman facing end of life choices in London.

From documentary to commercials, whether shooting or directing, Jen is committed to combining strong stories with creative vision and a core sense of integrity. As a freelance director they have made films for clients such as the Science Museum, The Tate, Barbican, Nike, Mini, and Sony.

They also co-run a film/photography studio in East London in an ex Victorian Tram Depot. They are always interested in collaborations, hires and developing new connections, so feel free to get in touch.
